“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”

                                                                                                                                                                                           -  Picasso

Everything inspires me to paint, particularly the details of my surroundings, up close designs of nature. Painting from this idea encourages exploration and leads to new possibilities. It is a constant experiment which I do in order to express my inner thoughts and balance composition.

Making art becomes meditation when creativity takes over your mind in constant search of personal satisfaction. The process is exciting and fulfilling. It is fun to erase everything I have been exposed to in order to allow my inspiration and spontaneity  as well as my sense of organization and structure create art.

I start a painting with close-up shots of what captures my attention. Mixing reality with random brushstrokes, I let the experimentation decide what the outcome of the piece will be. I use a diversity of media  and tools that seem relevant to create the desired effect. It is a constant process of building and demolition. I build and apply first randomly following my instincts with no restraint or reason, then proceed to subtract and structure the image in order to convey my message.

My teacher and friend gave me this quote I love

" It is good to love as many things as one can, for therein lies true strength, and those who love much, do much and accomplish much, and whatever is done with love is   done well"   -     Vincent Van Gogh
